Wolfe Island Music Festival

Some festivals are big. Some are flashy. And then there’s the Wolfe Island Music Festival… where friends asked friends to play on a dock, and suddenly poof, you’ve got one of Canada’s most celebrated music festivals.

Nestled in the village of Marysville on Wolfe Island, just a scenic ferry ride from Kingston, this two-day festival comes with all the perks you didn’t know you needed: overnight camping, intimate venues, smaller crowds, tasty food, and a lineup full of local and independent acts that make you feel like you actually know them before they’re famous.

Kingston legend Virginia Clark, the mastermind behind The Grad Club and FlyingV productions, teamed up with local organizer Sarah McDermott to turn dockside parties into a full-blown festival. When McDermott stepped down, Clark swooped in like a musical superhero and kept the magic alive.

If you think managing a club and running a festival is impressive, you’re barely scratching the surface of Virginia Clark. She practically invented cool in Kingston. She’s a fairy godmother and all-around badass. Seriously, dive into this Vice article about her and try not to be obsessed.

Praised by CBC Radio 3 as one of Canada’s top summer festivals, Wolfe Island Music Festival proves that big magic can happen in small, ferry-accessible packages. This poster collection, featuring gems from 2003-2005, 2009, 2012-2015, and 2017-2018, is a visual mix-tape of island magic. Pure, unadulterated beauty, ready for your eyeballs.
